ok, that makes sense. But it order for it to work I still need to contact the manufacturer, because the channels are in the wrong order for this to work right? I made my pan and tilt 16bit and now wheel 1 is pan and pig + wheel 1 is tilt. so I h…
-
ok, I'll contact Chauvet. Seems like they do this will all their moving heads. I've been looking at other manufacturers librarys and it seems like they just have pan and tilt at 16 bit. so when you write a library do you just leave out the fine pa…

Tim, The fixture has 16bit pan/tilt, and the dmx chart also says fine pan and tilt. channel 1 pan channel 2 tilt channel 3 fine pan channel 4 fine tilt so this being the case, would it work.
-
I went back and looked at the dmx chart for the fixture. I made a mistake in the library, the fixture does actually have 16bit pan tilt. but the channels are in the correct order so I guess it still won't work. Its a new fixture Chauvet is debuti…

Brad, if those fine pan tilt channels need to be sequential, how does the desk know to use "pig + wheel" to access them? is that something I can add to the fixture library? What I mean is this: my wheels currently are pan, tilt, fine pan ..... in…

ok, thanks Brad

I've got a question about this too. I have a tour coming up, we're using a Hog 1k. I'd like to have a disk with all my library files on it before I start programming. But I remember something weird happened last year, where I couldn't make it work w…

ok, thanks! is the Colorado m1 the same as the colorado3?
-
I'm not confusing pan/tilt with focus. I'm talking about how the console handles the parameter of 'focus' not pan/tilt. I make all of my pan/tilt positions to include a hard edge using the 'focus' paramter. but I also try to focus my gobos so the…
-
ok, that sounds good. But does the focus parameter operate on LTP? and if so does your method work if you've selected a gobo and then changed position...wouldn't the focus in the position take over the focus parameter and make the gobo no longer in…

I'm actually using a Hog500 (I meant Hog II OS) so I am using the patch button It actually happens when I save as well (when I hit 'OK' to save) also when I hit 'add fixture' and when I hit 'ok' to exit the 'set up - shows' menu (but not going…

and that's when editing any fixture type that has been patched
-
ok thanks! I'll just use 27 channel, and suffer through making the palettes once and be done with it. THanks
-
The 'cue' button doesn't seem to do much. I checked the EV monitor and the button works, but if I try "record list 5 cue 2" the syntax line says "record list 52" it just skip the 'cue' command
-
Library works great, thanks for the help. But there is one thing I can't figure out: There are seeral control modes, 27 channel and 6 channel are the ones I use. It seems like I cannot use a mode that is not set as the default in 'patch' >'edit …
-
ok, I get what you're saying. I wasn't thinking about those other settings. Thanks! How about LED chases? I've got some LEDs that are broken up into 4 sections each with RGB. If I'm making chases that I'll use over and over again, should they be …

ericthegeek wrote: It's faster to program, but slower when you have to go back and edit. Editing a reasonably complex show that's not tracked can be painful. It's a case of pay now or pay later. Maybe you can explain this a little? If I all …

I do use tracking, I was just wondering if it should ALWAYS be used for some reason. I use it and understand it, but sometimes it's faster to program with out it.

I've used these KSD 250 lamps from Divine lighting, in both Martin and HES fixtures, I've never had a problem. They've been in the Technobeams for almost a year.
-
how is the F-100 on fluid consumption? And how does it compare to the Radiance? Since they're in the same price range, I"m wondering which would be better. Seems like you can also use the F-100 for fine haze. Why don't more people use F-100s insid…
-
why a hog 500? I didn't have $9k for a Roadhog, I didn't even have $4k for a Hog500, but I found one for just under $3k, that's why i got one
-
I Just figured out how to do that. For some reason I thought you could do both. Thanks!
-
Hey! I've made fixture librarys for these fixtures, but I can't seem to add them to my show. I can add them into a new show, but I can't merge it onto my currnet show disk. Am I missing something?
-
I use a Radiance and I love it, dmx control is key for me. Do any of you have reccomendations for outdoor hazing? Currently I'm using the Radiance in an upstage corner and a small fogger in the other upstage corner. This works great as long as t…

What exactly do you mean by new starting position? I thought I was doing that when I placed the fixtures in their straight out position and then selected the effect. Do you mean when I create the effect in Hog PC? Thanks!
-
Thanks! I did this easily, and it works great with my technobeams, I also have some Coemar 250s, which didn't take to the effect, and I can't figure out why. I tried to add the effect to the position I had which was all fixtures facing the crowd. …

I am also looking for a library file for the 4 channel Colorkey Par 64 LED
-
Ok, I'll do that this week. Any advise on how to do it? if I just put a sine wave on the pan and save it as an effect, I should be able to adjust speed and size of the effect on the 500, right?
-
I just figured that stuff out. but I've got another Virtual Master question If I were to put my position cues on virtual masters, is there anyway I can adjust the fade time on the fly? the 'time' button only works with the programmer.
-
Thanks ahelgor. So with an xkeys how would you control Virtual Masters for say color or gobos? Would you make Macros? example: marco 1 = "list 11, enter" Can the x keys do it's own macros? meaning if F8 is "list" and I want to press go on List 1…
-
Thanks guys. that seems pretty pointless if I can't use the faders. I guess I'll go with something like an "x keys". Do you know what the process to set that up would be?
-
so will this not work on a Hog 500?
-
Interesting, I find that to look a little choppy. I wish the effect could persist, but I gues I'll have to deal!
-
yes, position effects
-
Goto works great, thanks! Plus I can dial in the fade time. Here's another question. If I have an effect going on a master, and then I change position via another master, the effect gets stomped. I can't seem to make the effect continue after the…

Lenses were ok, just dirty optics. Thanks guys
-
Hey Tim, It hasn't always been like that, it's a recent problem. Can those lenses come unset on their own?
-
What do you clean your mirrors, gobos and lenses with?
-
Hey, I've got another quick question. One of my fixtures is kind of not focusing properly, but I don't think its the focus tube. The Focus tube works, and moves the full length of the track up and down, but when the gobo looks sharp there is still b…

I'll get on the displays asap. Yes they finally fire, almost always the second time I try. They are not the last two in the chain (it's not always two, sometimes just one, sometimes there is no problem and they all strike first try.) The units ar…
