Technobeam : Litho disassembly problem

Getting to those motors is difficult. First remove the sled from the body. To do this remove the handles on either side of the lamp opening. Remove the DMX connector from the XLR at the circuit board. It is too short to stay connected when you remove the plastic around the lamp. There are two screws on the bottom of the sled, left and right of the lamp, that hold the sled into the body. Slide the sled out of the body 1/3 of the way. Disconnect the extensions for pan and tilt, they are under the sled and become exposed when you start to slide the sled out. Remove the sled from the body completely.

After the sled is out remove the FX wheel, the Iris, and the post that holds the top of the iris. This gives you enough space to the the color/litho assembly out. The assembly is held in with 2 screws at the top that go through the circuit board and 3 screws on the bottom side of the sled. Take out the screws and lift the circuit board up enough to tip the color/litho assembly forward. There's not much extra wire on the motors and sensor so you have to disconnect them before you move the assembly too far. Also watch out for the sensor for the color wheel.

Too late, I'v already done what you told me (the disassembly)... It worked fine, no surprises, it was well explained. The only doubt I have is that when the technobeam starts and does his reset, the driver of the litho rotation works (runs , stops when he's in front of the sensor, and doesn't make any errors) But when I try to control it by DMX, he doesn't want to move... I checked the cables by plugging them on another driver and it worked (I controled the litho selection with the DMX channel of the litho rotation). To be sure, I changed the driver of the litho rotation to a new one, and when I tried to control it by DMX it worked... don't ask me why...
I have just another question :
Are there different driver for different functions or are they all the same ? It seems (lightparts.com) that there are different drivers :

99270071LP 03V (PAN, TILT, FX ROTATE)
99270072LP 01V (LITHO WHEEL)
Is it dangerous for the driver if use for example the PAN motor driver for the litho function ?

Jeeper, what do you call driver "chip" : the cable ? You also talk about motor fuse ? where is it ?

Another question (sorry) : what tool do you use to take out the litho wheel ?

Driver meaning the IC chip. there are few makers but they all have the same number 3773 on them. they run the motors. to remove the litho wheel you need to loosen two allen set screws on the hub of the wheel. the motors are the same (non-HES part number is 17pm-k310-*** the last few digits are the shaft sizes), the shafts are diffrent sizes. Hint if you are buying spare motors buy the ones with the longer shaft, you can cut them down to size if needed. as far as fuse if your other motors are running the its not the fuse.

I tried to unscrew those allen screws, but I don't unerstand which size of key I have to use ? I tried with "1,5" size and it didn't match really, then "2" is too big. Is it 1,7 or 1,8 (hard to find in france...)
