Fullboar 4 connection with Hog4 PC

Hello,

I am trying to hook up my full boar 4 to be remotely connected to my laptop running hog4 pc. Both are running the same version of software. I have it setup for the FB4 to run into a wireless router then my laptop just connects to the router. When I pull up the PC software, it won't find the show. I have set all the network setting correctly in the console and pc software. Out of the console I am using the Hognet port and not the fixturenet. My question is, for the connectiong between router and console, do I need to be using a crossover cable rather than a normal Cat5 cable? Currently I am using a normal cat5 that I used with the hog 3 before we switched to 4. Any other things I should be looking at?

    No, don't need a crossover cable since you have a switch/Router.
    Check to make sure the cat 5 cable is going into a switch port on the router and not the one that says "internet".

    Hey guys, sorry for the lack of response. I got it to recognize the show and launched it. The issue I am having now is that when I launch now from my laptop to connect it sees there is a show but gives me a "show database init failure". Any thoughts on that one?

    I've seen that error when I had a fault cat 5 cable. It'll show the network show, it tries to join and then displays "show database init failure".
    Tested the cat 5 cable and it had a bad wire. New cable, and it joined and remained solid.

    Can't remember for sure, but I think I've also seen it when someone duplicated a IP address.
