IPC 8.6.4 trouble

Aaron ZahndAaron Zahnd Registered User
I am having trouble installing 8.6.4 on a IPC using the full restore and while trying to do a partial restore for 8.6.3. I have attached a photo of the error I am receiving mid way through the install. I am able to use an older version in the mean time so this is not a pressing need right now however I am looking forward to not having any encoder lag while programming so any help is appreciated.

Thanks
Aaron

Please re-download the image and re-burn it.

Please provide the specs of your iPC.

Yeah, I have downloaded it twice with no luck. I'm going to downloaded and burn it at home this weekend and try again Monday. I don't have the specs with me right now, I can look at it on Monday. What kind of specs are you looking for? I do know it was a very early model with a build date of early '06 or maybe even '05.

What Motherboard is installed in your iPC?

I was told that the that error message occurs when all the files needed did not get copied.
Please re-download the ISO and burn another ISO CD.

After downloading this twice on different computers and different networks I am still getting this error. How do i determine which motherboard is installed on the IPC?

I am having the same issue trying to do a full install of 8.6.4 on my IPC. I have the Asus V7N8X-VM/400 motherboard.

I have downloaded and burned multiple files from multiple computers/browsers/burners.

I then noticed that the file size specified on the download site is 616mb, and every file I've downloaded is 526mb.

Leads me to believe there is a problem with the .iso file on the site.

Any chance someone could investigate this and let us know...

    Thanks,

    Mike

    Update...

I was able to complete a full install of 3.2.4 (Xpe8.6.3), and then used software update to upgrade to 3.2.5, after reducing my video memory in the bios.

    No encoder lag! Yea!

What did you reduce your video memory to? Did you put it back to normal after installing?

    Aaron,

I reduced it to 8mb, so my total system memory shows as 504mb.

I did not change it back yet, and don't know if that will be a problem or not. I thought the original upgrade tech notes from a while back said to reset it after the upgrade, however the current version does not specify to do so.

    Thanks Michael,

I have downloaded the file, and the size is now correct. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to see if it will install on the console.

New iPC full install image file from the download site worked like a charm.

    Thanks,
