    The sensor is what allows the fixture to find it's home position for the gobo or color wheel. If you look at either wheel, you'll see a small notch along the edge. When that notch passes between the two magnetic posts on the sensor it tells the logic board that the wheel is in the "zero" position (open gobo or white light). There's nothing you can use other than a sensor to accomplish this. If you're needing to replace one you may post in the "gear wanted" section, or visit www.lightparts.com to purchase a new piece. They are however, critical to the functionality of the fixture.
