Setting all cues for stage depth?

When you programmed your show wit position-preset you only need to update your positions.
There is no other way to do this.

Normally…when you program a show, you build some "position" palettes. For example, Band, cross stage, XXX, roof, audience, DSC. Even if they are dummy values (0,0), you use them recoding your cues and where you want your fixtures to go.

Then, when you get to your venue, you select your fixtures and put them in position BAND. Move them to where they should be and update the Palette. Do the same for the 6 or 7 positions. Now all of your programming is updated.

It sounds like you programmed your show without using palettes and just left them at 0,0. If that's the case, then no, there is no "stage depth" adjustment. You have 2 options. Before you get to your venue, update your cues with position palettes that you can update on site or re-record.

I understand what you are saying here. Please explain a little further though. I need to create a position palette. How do I add that palette to my cues? And should the position just be 0,0 in the palette?

The way I'd do it in this case is Load the cue so it is the active cue. Choose your group of fixtures which positions you want to record to a palette and hit the 'Touch' button down the bottom of the screen then record as a Position palette.
Hit the 'clear' button, select your group again and then select the position palette and hit 'update'. Make sure you're only merging it in to the cue you intend to.

It all depends on what type of show you're doing.

Concerts? Theater? Corporate? It's all very subjective.

Basically…you can build some palettes for positions you want to use. For a concert, I have my shows built on 7 positions to start. Band, Cross Stage, XXX, Fan, Roof, Audience, DSC. So those 7 positions are what I create palettes for.

When programming, I select my fixtures, put them in the band position and continue. Mixing and matching depending on what I'm doing.

Now that everything is programmed, when I get to the venue, I turn on all of the lights, put them in the position and update the palette to what works on stage. Done. All programming is updated.

To put palettes into cues, be sitting in the cue…select the movers, put them in a palette and MERGE into the cue.

So if I make a palette, I'll just walk through my thoughts here.

I pick my movers. Place them where I want them. I assume it's best to highlight them when positioning so I'm not recording any intensity values. Press record and pick a spot in the pallets position window.

Then open a cue list on its first cue. And then simply tap the position pallets and hit merge or update.

I'm assuming I need to make several position palettes if this is the method. So there is a bit of moving variety in my different cue lists? Or is the palette just one position?

You wont record intensity in a position directory if you are using the standard settings.

Select your fixtures, position them, press record, touch any free entry in the position directory. Done
Do the same thing for your color and beam palettes.
Then start building your looks/cues/cueslists with these palettes.

Now you can update all your programming by updating these palettes
