Console Lock - Solution??

This is either a 'feature' or a 'bug' depending on your perspective.

Received a RHFB console from a different vendor. The usb keyboard supplied has computer shortcut buttons 'Sleep', 'Wake up', and 'Power'. Pressing the "Sleep", puts the computer to sleep; monitors go to black, fans stop spinning, faders/desktop inactive, but DMX REMAINS CAPTURED AT LAST LEVELS. As far as I could tell, the only way to wake the console back up is to press the console power button. (Re-pressing 'Sleep', 'Wakeup' and keyboard 'Power' had no effect.

The console is not actually 'shut down', because when you hit the console 'power' button, it restores to your last state (no login or boot) in about 20 seconds.

Would this be an acceptable way to lock the console for a walkaway? Or is it harmful since the fans turn off (is the hard drive still spinning, etc?). Anyone foresee any other potential problems?

If this is harmful, can the keyboard controls be disabled so it can't be pressed. Found a post from 2007 requesting this feature, but doesn't appear to be implemented.
