What would you do?

I'm pretty sure that the Hog remote for Ipad/phone/touch will come before the end of this year.
But, there's also other exciting programs for those platforms.
Like, Luminair.
Also, Cast is going to publish some Wyg tools for Ipad

Well...I was one of those people that said "hmmm...iPad. It's ok, but unless I get one for free, I don't think I need one."

I got one for my 40th birthday...and I'm so glad I did!!! I rarely use my Mac Book Pro anymore. There are a few things here and there that I need it for, but for about 80% of my use now, it's all on the iPad.

So, I'd say go for the iPad, but i think that's just me being...well...happy that I have mine.

Hmmm, what kind of use does it seethat its replaces so much of your laptop?

I've been doing the research lately to replace a tablet and everything always comes back to the iPad.

Hmm the tablet I'm replacing was an HP tx1228ca. Something interesting I found is the keyboard dock and VGA adapter. It gets more interesting the more I dig.

Like I said, I use it for about 80% of my day to day uses.

Hmm that is very cool. from what i've read it can't do multi tasking yet? I hope that i am wrong.

You are correct. Nothing that runs the iPhone or iPad OS is capable of multitasking currently.

The advantage of a PC tablet is that you are networked directly in as a client rather than having to go through other routes to move data.

Having said all of that, with the forthcoming FPS App this may cease to be an issue.

Personally I prefer my ruggedized PC tablet for the environments I work in....an iPad would not make it through a day.....just too fragile, but it does cost more than an iPad.

Ultimately you will have to decide what tool is best for you and your work.
The good news is that you have choices. ;)

Multitasking is coming to the iPad this November with the release of iOS 4.2 (the iPhone and iPad operating system.)
