More 3.1.5 Crashes & Oddities

did you do an update or a full clean-install to 3.1.5?

To be honest, I did an Update, rather than a Clean Install.

As it happens I was aiming to do a Clean Install on site, but the internet connection wouldn't work!

Can you please send us your show file! You should not be getting errors like that. Can you check to ensure you have auto backup turned off. We have seen that getting in the way as trying to write while it is saving off. We are addressing that problem now.

Also, do you have the original shows you were attempting to merge? It seems that is the root of your problem where it was having difficulty performing the merge.. Looks like you tried it a couple times with the same result? (first time you selected cancel then wait) with it freezing up.. Did you restart the console or did you just restart the desktop process afterwards? Was there a console restart before the patch error?

After a few re-starts, the desk was rock solid from then on for both programming and operating from then on.
In this case I think i can explain everything regarding while it would continue to hang. Whenever you change type, then remove the fixture we have an issue that we are leaving remininsce of the original data within the cues. We leave them there during a change type so you may change back to the original or other type and keep your original programming.

The problem is we are not doing a very good job at removing all "unused" bits when you remove the "new" type.. We have made the system better at handling this condition where we have seen it in marks and show merges. There may be other areas as well.

We are resolving this issue ASAP.. Look for a 3.1.6 Beta soon..

I've been having similar problems, but none of them seem to be repeatable:

- General instability/random freezing
- Strange display anomalies (one time color wheel was all messed up looking)
- Slow processing
- etc.

Also, my screen setup has never saved correctly. I'm using an external monitor and have to go in to enable it every time, as well as calibrate the screen. This seems an unnecessary annoyance to me.

I freshly installed XPe image 1.6.0 and I'm running 3.1.5

Anyone have any ideas? Help would be appreciated!

Please try the latest patch and let us know if you are still experiencing issues. Please let us know right away if you are still experiencing problems. We would like to get to the bottom of why you are having issues!

I have had also had problems with merging.
It is also somewhere here in a thread merge problems.
My problem is solved by HES support. Our showfiles are merged in a beta and it is fixed.

If you look at the 3.1.6 Release Notes it looks like quite a few problems with Show Merging have been fixed.
