Warp Files

Hello all.

We are planning a "simple" spherical projection on an inflated ball.
Looking through the warp presets there's only Horizontal or Vertical
cylindrical presets, not full spheres - from what we can find.

Does anyone have experience doing this? .. and want to share their file?

I have a bit of a mathematical model in mind but really don't want to
sit down with excel and code it!!

Cheers
Kyle.

My personal recommendation would be to get an AXON server per DML and use the Spherical Mapping onboard that server.

I think you will probably be happier with the AXON in general as opposed to the cut-down Hippo that comes with the DML.

Another way to go is to change for DL.3 units, but maybe this is not an option for you for output reasons.

    Hope this helps. :)

    Kyle,

If you are going to be using the DML along with the onboard warping capabilities I would recommend creating your own warp preset. Download and install Projector Toolset:

    http://www.barco.com/en/events/product/1914/downloads

In Projector Toolset go to the Warping tab and select the Warp with UI option. Here you can create your own warp presets by clicking and dragging coordinates in the grid. Once you create your warp you can upload it to the DML and recall them via your lighting console.

I hope this gets you headed in the right direction.

Not able to change the fixtures.

Kind of surprised you only have built-in presets for horizontal or vertical barrel distortion and not both. Would have made the project a lot easier!

We'll see how we go, if it's successful might put the file up somewhere.

    Kyle,

Have you looked into the Warping capabilities? You can create just about any warp imaginable with the Warping User Interface.
