Hot Keys?

I have an upcoming show that has a game show incorporated into it. It has been requested that when the host or contestant hits one of two large buttons on their lectern, it triggers a lighting/audio cue. Each button would need to have a separate lighting cue attached to it. Triggering the cues by the lighting board operator is not an option. I welcome any suggestions on how to most easily accomplish this.
Thanks.

Probably the easiest will be with MIDI. You can get a box that will take a contact closure from your "plunger" and send a MIDI message to the console.

Just use 2 of them in order to trigger 2 different lists.

I don't think that will work, as H3 only reads MSC or MTC, not notes or controllers as the midisolutions box transmits.

No, it works. You just have to program the Midi System Exclusive Message to trigger the right cuelist.

I'm currently using a Cueserver to trigger my Hog3 from GPIO.

This Thread talks about how to get a trigger to fire the Hog via MIDI and MSC.

Good to know Jon! I didn't know you can program sysex messages in that box.
    Pretty cool.

I really like the Cueserver. I'm using it a lot now. It's my triggers for mid-week events that don't need the movers, all of my power functions for the movers (so I don't have to leave a list running on the Hog...and mistakenly hit PIG+REL), triggers all of my maintenance lists (via MIDI to the console) and then using GPIO to trigger MIDI messages to the Hog. It's really a great box.

Just to make sure I have this correct....

I program the footswitch controller to generate a system exclusive message.
Then I manually create the message to trigger the Hog
(As an example 0x1 GO 2,1)
This should trigger Cuelist 1, Cue 2 on the console

Also, what are you using to program the Midi Solutions product? Do you just use a USB to Midi Convertor?

Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to make sure I've got this right.
