IPC to Ethernet system

It all depends on WHAT the ethernet port wants to see.

Pretty much the ONLY thing that comes out the ethernet port on the iPC is HogNet. So, unless they are using DP2000's or DP8000's somewhere else, the ethernet port isn't going to do anything for you.

More than likely, you will need some type of NODE for the house system. ETC, Strand, whatever...they all have varying protocols. You would take DMX OUT of the iPC into the node. The node then plugs into the ethernet port. Then, everything would have to be configured to talk.

Not a task for the faint of heart.

The system is a Strand an I do have a portable node available. When I plug the C5 from the console into the node, it reads as dmx out. I would assume i would need to change the node to an input, so that the 5 pin would take the hog dmx signal. I would also need a M to M adapter for the dmx cable. If changing the node to input is required, do you know how to do this? Hook up a laptop with Strand software?

You can't come ETHERNET out of the console. The ETHERNET out of the console is ONLY Hognet. You have to go DMX (regular 5-pin XLR) out of the console into the node. The node then plugs into the system with ethernet. (just wanted to make sure that was clear)

As far as the Strand nodes, unfortunately, I only have experience with Pathport nodes. You'd have to contact Strand on how to change those.
