use a fader to control effect size/speed?

is this possible? if so, how... if not, when...
  • Currently not impemented... However there is a work around...

2 cues on a fader, then set the fader to be a manual crossfader.

    Best Regards,
  • Another workaround is the record the effect to a scene. assign the scene to a fader with ipcb faders. fader should now control the size of the effect(remember to record the effect large as you can only control the size from stop to the recorded size). You can then press and hold the choose button for the fader and use the second encoder wheel while pressing the choose button to control the speed of the effect both slower and faster than recorded.
  • As Robert26 said it is possible to do this. Build the effect in the programmer then knockout the pan/tilt values leveing the effects info in the programmer and then record it to a fader, it can be a scene or a cuelist doesn’t matter. Now make the cue fade time 0% and the release time 0%, then set the fader to (IPCB crossfade), and the click/bump button to (+go on flash) and (+release on off). Now if you have the same fixtures in some other cue list you can apply this one with the effects to the one with just the position. Give the effect cuelist a higher priority, so if you have a cuelist with several position cues in it you can have the effect list playing and then change to different position on the other cuelist. If you don’t set the effect cuelist to a higher priority then it will get stomped on when you change the position cuelist. If you do all this you will be able to use the fader to crossfade into the effect lower fader level will be a smaller and slower effect, higher fader values will be a faster and bigger effect. Push the click/bump button and it will play as fast as you recorded it. Remember to knock out the pan/tilt before you record the effect cue, if you don’t then it will go to that position instead of following the position cuelist.

You cannot put just size on a fader or just rate on a fader, it is all effects, rate, size, offset, and length.

    Have fun.
