You cannot output Art-Net directly from a Hog 3 and a Hog 3 cannot use widgets to output DMX. Only the windows consoles can do this.

So basically you will need to use a DP8000 for Art-Net. That can have 16 universe of any mixture of Art-Net or DMX, either by using the 8 5 pins ports and the Ethercon connection to output or with the addition of widgets/expander. I have however heard you can use a DP2000 in "Art-Net mode". But I have never done that, don’t know how it works or have any experience setting that up. I used the Full Boar direct Art-Net, which is almost the same as the DP8000.

As Joe already mentioned, the only way to get Artnet out of the H3 is via the DP8000.

If you're running DP2K's, then you need to send the DMX out of the DP's into an Artnet gateway to get onto the Artnet network.

Unfortunately, using a Luminex is going to be the only way unless you source a DP8000.

Thanks jxgriffi, thats exactly what I needed to know... I presumed this was the case, just wanted but thought that at some point between the Hog 3 and the DP8 came out, someone, somewhere would have wanted to do the same as I, and it may have been done.

Seems the ideal job, I will take a Hub and some DP's and take it from there. The festivals we are doing are around Reading/Leeds weekend, so I can see all/any DP8K's my supplier having going there.

I actually think the House are using Hog 2 or D4's which will mean they probably will run DMX back to stage anyway.... which is never great with desk swaps etc.. hey ho. Production meeting Tuesday will out.

Another option could be to use a RHFB desk, which also has an ArtNet port built in.

Do you mean C-Series for INPUT or for OUTPUT around the rig?

If you're using them at FOH for INPUT, then you just connect XLR5's to the inputs and the signal is on the network.

If you're using them in the rig for OUTPUT, you need a way to get the DMX onto the ethernet network. This is accomplished either via INPUT nodes at FOH or a DP8000 utilizing the Artnet output.

DP2k in Art-Net Mode is just a Art-Net Node with 4 Outputs...
Changing the Mode will swap the input from HOG-Net to Art-Net. Output will stay DMX

Ok i not explain well, here we go again, i will use a hog 3 but in the house the only out is RJ45 and the cable run thru the path port c series, i jut read and the only way to use it its with a dp 8000 right?

That connection out of the back of the Hog 3 is for HogNet only. This connection would connect to a DP8000 to HogNet jack. The Fixture link jack will output the artnet over a separate network to your pathport output boxes. All of the consoles have Hognet jacks and that is how they communicate. Only consoles/hardware pieces that have Fixturelink (artnet/sACN) is the Road Hog Full Boar and the DP8000 everything else is HOGnet. Even the DP2000.
