Error updating Hog3PC v3.0.5 on iPC (from fresh ISO 8.5.0 install)

Hi there,

I'm trying to update my iPC to the latest version.

I've downloaded XPe Image release 8.5.0 from your website, and just burned it into the console. All just fine at this point.

Then, I install Hog iPC Configuration Panel v3.0.5 (2482) without problems.

The error comes, when installing Hog 3PC v.3.0.5 (2482), it shows an error window:

Hog3PC 3.0.5.2482
Error writing to file: C:\Program Files\Flying Pig
Systems\Hog3PC\helptext\zh\sect_copying_moving_scenes.htm
Verify that you have access to that directory.
Retry - Cancel

If I press retry, the error repeats like in a buckle. If I press cancel, then undo all the installation, and comes again with v3.0.4.

There's any solution on this?

Hi Raul,

The issue you are experiencing is related to the availability of system memory. Please try the the following procedure:

1. Attach a keyboard to the console and power on the console.
2. During the boot process, press the DEL or DELETE key to enter the BIOS settings screen.
3. When prompted to enter the BIOS password, enter: hesipc.
The BIOS Setup Utility will open.
4. Navigate to the advanced tab, select the chipset, and change the video frame buffer size to 8MB.
5. Press F10 to Save changes and exit the BIOS Setup Utility.
6. Once saved, the console will boot as normal and you should now be able to install v3.0.5 of Hog3PC

I haven't updated to 3.0.5 yet. Should I change the BIOS setting on my IPC first?

Eric, that depends on the model of the motherboard in your iPC and how much memory is installed. I would try the install first before changing your bios settings.
