Using Echo as a ''visualizer''...

Currently this is not possible. Also please keep in mind that Echo only displays the content and does not contain the graphics engine of a SHOWPIX/StudioPix so it could not show you the final output after all the modifications.

However your idea is a good one and we do have some plans for the future to assist with visualization of our Pixellation fixtures...

I have downloaded Echo with pixelage to my second laptop. I cant seem to add content to pixelage section though... Am I missing something? or do I have to have fixtures connected, I get the "DMX widget driver not installed" message along the bottom.

Hi Joe,

You will need to have fixtures connected to add user content, but not Pixellage content. For pixellage you need to go to the Pixellage Tab and choose Create. Then you can create your template and click on Media to choose your media file. Next choose Create Pixellage at the bottom of that window. This will slice up the content and you will then be able to see it under Pixellage Content in the main Echo window.

Ahh, now that wont be easy. There arnt many SHOWPIX near me!

Right. Just choose any file you'd like to use as your content. Just browse somewhere on your computer where you have a photo or movie.

OK, I have one on thier now. But how do I use SHOWPIX stock content in the pixellage?

In short, you can't.

There are actually a few reasons. Perhaps the one you are mainly looking for is that the content in each StudioPix or SHOWPIX is not high resolution. It is literally just the pixels you are seeing. If you are thinking that it should behave like Collage in a DL then those low resolution pixels would be stretched across an array of fixtures and would not really read correctly as the image you'd expect.

In order for this to work as you might be thinking/hoping we'd have to put all of the content pre-sliced into every single SHOWPIX or StudioPix. That would lead to a massive content library that would not be very utilitarian. Or we'd have separate content in each fixture so you'd have to buy the correct piece of the puzzle.

Does this make sense?
