Echelon

I have just bought a Echelon 1k and I am having a lot of problems trying to make a new fixture lib. I have used the fixture generator link on the flyingpig.com website but every time I try to load my new fixture I simply can not find it on the fixture list. The light is made buy star and it is a copy of a mac 250 kr. I have tried to merge it with show and just load it a new lib but I can never find it. I have attached the fixture paramerters if anyone can help.

  • what I remember from my old echelon is:

first leave a 'return' between all the different parameters ( like a 'return' between the last parameter 'range = 0, 65536,%' from panfine and the start for tilt fine.

then put a copy from your desk-lib-file on a computer, and also this new-to-import-file.
In a text editor copy all the parameters for your Star250 and paste them in your desk-lib-file.
Then on top of the desk-lib-file you have to increase the count of fixtures with 1

put this new desk-lib-file in your jands and the Star250 should be visible. If you get errors during start-up / show-load: I don't know this fixture, so if the dmx-datasheet is o.k., you'll have to find out...

The way I do this on the 1000 is to save my show, copy _lib.lib to my computer, tag the new data to the bottom, and make sure that the count at the top gets incremented by one. Write it back to your show disk, and it should be available for use, and no merging required. There are pretty good details in the Hog-2 manual, which (I think) is still available online from HES.

I don't recall spaces ever making a difference, but can't swear that they don't . . . but miss incrementing the count field at the top of _lib.lib, and the desk will be deaf as a telephone pole to your new entry . . .
