Striking lamps from desk?

Hi Folks, Im brand new at all this.

I have some older techno beams that for one reason or another need to be manually struck from time to time.

In order to do this, I must pull in the electric that they are hanging on. Obviously, this cannot happen live.

Someone told me that I can strike these lamps automatically from the hog 3 desk. Is this true?

If so, Can someone point me in the direction?

The lamp on and lamp off commands reside in the control window.

Select your Technobeam, press Control (in the lower right hand corner of the right screen) and a menu should pop up with lamp on, lamp off, display on, display off, fixture global reset, etc....

Press Lamp On

Wait a few seconds (I generally wait 10 or so)....and then press Fixture Idle or clear the programmer.

The lamp should strike.

as an aside, Technobeams should strike automatically if they're powered up and receiving DMX. disconnecting an reconnecting the fixture should have it striking quick. maybe that's possible without having to lower the electric....?

What if you don't want it to automatically strike when powered up? How do you keep it from striking?
