So I have been running a couple shows recently using chases on my masters. I found it was a chore to have a iPhone out to get the BPM of the music and then change it on the chase. I was thinking it would be handy if the console could read and set the BPM by the operator hitting that masters bump button or play button to the beat. This would have been much easier at the last show I was working because I didn't have a iPhone handy with the BPM calculator. I am not sure if this has been discusssed in previous threads, but I could see the usefullness for some situations.
The feature is called Tap Sync. It only works on physical masters. Press and hold the choose button on the master, and then tap the masters go button at least twice to get the BPM you need. :P
The idea of tap sync for effects is part of our planned rework for the effects engine. I dont have a timeline for this rework as of yet, but we are in the planning stages now for our next major release and will discuss this among other things.
