Library merge fail.

Road Hog, Full Boar. V 2.6.0 b2071, file library v 4.1.27. Trying to merge in library information from v 4.1.32 and v 4.1.27 uncommon. Show merge dialogue begins with:

Initializing Merge
Updating Library
Checking Library consistency
Importing Showgun Fixture (or StudioPix Fixture)
Merge failed: Adding Type Failed.

I have now re-downloaded the library info from flyingpig.com a couple of times, and end with the error message.

Any thoughts?

At this point I'm going to try to create a new show with the new library and then merge in all of my programming. Any thoughts though would be nice.

So I ended up reverting to a backup, and the merge worked fine. Apparently somehow the show data ended up a little wonky. So there's that... I promise I didn't do anything!

I guess that's why backups are awesome.

Brian,

I am glad to hear that all went well... yes backups are very important. I suspect that what happened is that you tried to merge the full library into your show, which would fill it and cause the failure. Then when youwent ot the backup maybe you only selected the fixtures you needed, which allowed room for them to be merged.

I'm glad it worked out as well. Though I had tried just about everything, starting with just the fixtures i needed and then working my way to merging the entire library, I also tried several different versions of the library. the only thing I can think of was that something ended up corrupted in the show file, and reverting to the backup cleared whatever was corrupt.
