Change background color of pallet items

SmokeyXSmokeyX Registered User
I'd like to be able to change the background color of each "cell" of the pallets for organizational purposes. Maybe this can be done already but, I cant find any info on this.

An example of how this would be to be able to change the color of groups of different types of fixtures so they can be more easily identified.

If I am not mistaken, Grand MA has this ability.

    SmokeyX,

This cannot currently be done. There is an enhancemnt logged somewhere already for this.

Although I recognize that this might be useful for some folks.....Personally I like the more monochrome look as opposed to the screens looking like gaudy Christmas trees.....the stage is what should be bright and colorful.....it is an elegance thing IMO.

I do alot of on the fly programming (punting) so a little color changes between different attributes of pallets and groups would make that situation a little bit easier.

    Nathan,

Color coding is on our list of features to be added soon. While it is not in the next release, the feature is planned to be implemented sooner than later.

Actually, I would go one step further and be able to put a gif or jpg on the cell. Since I'm visual, I look for the picture instead of the words.

    Brad,

You know, with the Hog fleet being used on more and more media server gigs, especially enormous rigs like the Olympics, I would imagine that image files for palettes would be something you guys are working on. Has anyone inquired as to the implementation of animated files like gif animations for thumbnails? I've always found it more useful to use the Content Guide on the HES web site rather than the content manger, simply because clicking on the Guide thumbnail gave me a sample of the animation. I dont suppose Flash animation could be added to the Hog3 someday?

It would be really cool but I think that it would slow down windows refresh.

    Scott,

Thumbnails and the like are on our to-do list... we have some cool ideas that we will talk about more once the DP8000 (v3.0) is out.

    thanks,

I have seen on one of the HES podcasts, a wholehog 3 with a sort of "black" theme. What i mean is, where cells and most softkeys are usually light grey, these where black... why...? It is "What pros say vol 5"

That would be the "Dark" color scheme under Preferences.

I use it whenever houselights are going to be out...much easier on the eyes.

    On a sidenote:
Don't try and read the "Help" manual under the "Dark" scheme. Most of the tables and tabs disappear. (Found out the hard way).

Maybe this should be an enhancement then...?

Since that was me and my desk in that video;) ............

I keep my personal programming preference files publicly available @:

    http://www.retinalresonance.com/H3prefs.html

if you care to check them out......the posted version needs a bit of updating, but you can set the console preferences up exactly the way I had it in that video using my "RUN" file.

    Hope this helps:)
