Some strange things with WH3. (bugs?)

Nick ZNick Z Registered User
Hello.
Recently i use WH3 desks heavy on shows. Before have expirience only with RH and iPC desks.
Consoles both have 2.6.0 soft. One desk have OS from 2.4.0 restore CD, other desk came with 2.5.0 preinstalled. I don`t know what CD was used to full restore it.
And here is some strange behavior of WH3 desks:
1) Crash of desktop process lead to full crash of desk. I can`t restart process with Ctrl-Alt-Del as on iPC. And when i switch off power - desk UPS hold it online (and crashed) for several minutes.
2) Pitch wheel, if i try to scroll it above ~75% - Grandmaster came to 0% (Blackout).
3) When main power lost - desk switch to UPS and start to shutdown immediately with no questions. If power returned after few secs (someone accidentely drag power cord and then replug it) - desk anyway must start up (3 mins boot time)

    Nick,

I'm sure someone from High End will respond as well, but here are a few comments...

    1) To restart processes, you should always press PIG+OPEN+BACKSPACE

    2) I don't understand this question

    3) The internal UPS on the Hog III is not very big. It is designed to give you enough power to safely save and shut down a desk. When the mains power is un-plugged, the desk will always automatically shut down. This is not a bug.

    Hopefully that makes some sense.

    Sincerely,

    Phil

Yea, on iPC this 3 keys works as intended. But when WH3 chashes, something responsive for this keys also crashes and keys don`t work.

Pitch wheel, called also Rate wheel. It works good when i slow down from central position to 0%, but if i try to speed up - on half way up something happens like DBO button press.

    Hey Nick,
I had the same pitch wheel problem on my WH3. The spring that centers the wheel touches the PCB when in the full up position.
High End will send a replacement spring if contacted.

John is correct. In a few cases, the rate thruster spring can move and short out traces on the front panel PCB. Give support a call, and they can get you a replacement part.
