Hog500 - need effects

lightbrightlightbright Registered User
Hi,
I'm looking for or a way to make a 'Can Can' that works for PAN instead of TILT. The console has this for Pan, is there a way to change it. or is there somewhere to download this and other effects?

The only way to customize FX on a Hog-500 or Hog-1000 is to take your showfile into H2PC, make any edits, save and then reload into the console.

The FX on Hog-500 & 1K are extremely limited compared to Full H2.

Ok, I'll do that this week. Any advise on how to do it? if I just put a sine wave on the pan and save it as an effect, I should be able to adjust speed and size of the effect on the 500, right?

    yes.
alternatively, take a circle effect and knockout tilt.

Thanks! I did this easily, and it works great with my technobeams, I also have some Coemar 250s, which didn't take to the effect, and I can't figure out why. I tried to add the effect to the position I had which was all fixtures facing the crowd. the Technos did fine, but the coemars all faced inward (90 degrees to where they were) instead of out, causing the pan to swing across the curtain. Any ideas?

Also, when using the programmer (hog500) I can't figure out how to take out an effect without clearing the entire contents of the programmer. the manual says to select the fixtures and press knockout in the - but I couldn't find 'knockout' in the effects menu
I tried 'undo + parameter wheel'
I also tired 'undo + effect' which I thought would work but didn't.

The Knockout button is not in the Effects Engine, it is above the main display on a Hog 500 or 1000. It is on the bottom of the right touchscreen on a Hog 2 or Hog PC.

You may have to make a new starting position for your fixtures to get them to start where you like.

What exactly do you mean by new starting position? I thought I was doing that when I placed the fixtures in their straight out position and then selected the effect. Do you mean when I create the effect in Hog PC?

    Thanks!

You will have to experimant and see what works. You may need to pan the fixtures 180 degrees and then tilt them back out to the audience.
