The Wholehog 2 software is complete and no further development is planned. So Hog 2PC (even on Hog iPC) will not receive any new features. All work goes into the current Wholehog 3 based software.
Wouldn't that be irrelevant to the mode that the software is in and just be an additional service to the XP operating system? That would allow people who don't have the option of using a tablet running hog 3pc software to at least call up groups.. I guess they wouldn't have the wing layout though so maybe just having it active while it is in the hog 2 mode. I would like to think it would be extremely easy to implement especially since networking is unused in 2pc mode.
There is alot more involved than just updating the XPe image. Testing, further development, etc all require time and resources. Both are already busy with project for current products. If a user wishes to use a tablet for remote capabilities then they can use the Hog 3PC software as this functionality is supported.
