There are two questions where I couldn't find clear answer from the specs.

What is the maximum media resolution for video in Axon?
What is the resolution of output in Axon?

Same as for DL.2....no greater than 800,000 pixels total....no larger than 2048 on either axis.....keep in mind most of the stock content is 640x480

The outputs are locked at 1024x768.

    Hope this helps:)

    Thanks Marty,

Somehow I knew you would be the first with answers :)

Have you done any performance tests?
I noticed Axon has now the same content specs as DL3
    http://highend.com/support/digital_lighting/CreatingCustomContent.asp
So the standard is now 1024x768
Have you tried creating video with higher resolution...even at HD resolution.
Is there enough horsepower to run video with higher resolution.
Though I know there's not much point to go above the native resolution of output unless it gives an advantage when zooming the video.

I have used a file that was 1440x1024. However, there were some downfalls.

If you run a single layer, you'll be ok (not the greatest performance, but that was expected). When we tried to run 3 layers of this size file, it choked big time (like I knew it would).

We had the files re-rendered at 1024x768 and the animation folks couldn't tell the difference. :-)

Your hardware version also makes a BIG difference...if you have the older Pentium-4HT motherboard and older 80GB HDD and old RADEON 850 card the server peformance will be nowhere near what the newer Core2Duo motherboard is capable of with the 320GB HDD and RADEON 1900, 1950 or HD 2900 card.

The standard spec has not changed...the stock files are all 640x480, but the output is locked at 1024x768. Which also happens to be the native resolution of the projectors inside DL.2 and DL.3

    Hope this helps:)
