Effects in my cue list

Have you tried open cue and set table off? I have had similar problems quite many times also.
Also how about copying FX to programmer and recording it cue only.

Im not sure i understand what you mean about copying the FX to the programmer and recording the cue only - could you explain a bit more?

If I remember right...there are a few ways to transfer data to programmer.

Cue # Fixture # Copy Enter

or just select fixtures and use Suck or Touch (touch brings default values too)

Cue only = Record forward off

I always grab all of my fixtures and build 4 effects down in 101-104 range.

Grab all fixtures
Touch
Effect Open
Set INT to OFF (ONLY INT)
Record Effect 101

Do the same but with P/T to OFF and Record to 102 (ONLY P/T)
Do the same but with All Color Parameters to OFF and Record to 103 (ONLY COLOR)
Do the same but with All Beam Parameters to OFF and Record to 104 (ONLY BEAM)

Now...if I have an INT effect running in a cue, the next cue, grab the fixtures EFFECT 101 Enter. Record that into the next cue and you're done. You can do the same with the other types of Effects using the appropriate number.

Does that make sense?

Jon's advice was good...and mine...well, Recording forward off in this situation doesn't help at all, cause the tracked information is already there and in this situation we are not adding new information. It just creates a hard value to the next cue.
So, forget the cue only...
But opening the cue and setting table off should work and Jon's tip recording off effect palettes and using it to make the table go off.

Select the fixture/s in the programmer

Right monitor press Touch
Hold Effect button down
Right monitor press Knockout

Following your suggestion about FX stopping, and it works, sorta -- the effect stops -- but in whatever place it happens to be at that instant, and so the LED's are in weird random colors, and i cant seem to get them to take the colors i want -- im assuming some sort of a residual from the FX -- any insights?

You could do the effect stop with a time of 0 (so it's instant) and, in the same cue, put the LEDs in the color you want them to go to with a delay of .5 (or whatever).

So basically, keystrokes....

[LED Group] [Effect 103] (provided you are indeed doing a color effect) [TIME 0] [Enter]
[LED Group] [Color Palette] [Time] [0] [TIME] [TIME] [.5] [ENTER]

Record Cue X.....

So basically, you stop the effect, wait .5 seconds and drop them LEDs into the color you want them to go to.

as far as i an tell its a color effect

i got it from chris tall over on light network, the hue is ramped at 135 per minute, size 360 ofset 25>331 length 100%

What might be happening, depending on how you created the "Stop" effect....

If you created the Stop effect with CMY, HSI would not be affected. You might have to build a second stop on HSI and make that a new effect. Does that make sense? It keeps them separated.....

I didn't think of that before since I pretty much always use CMY instead of HSI.
