Global effect question

why when you store an effect with a fan you can't store it with the global option (to make an universal effect)?

Probably because the FAN information is stored at a PER FIXTURE level (each fixture has a unique value in the fan range).....therefore if you store as GLOBAL you will lose all your FAN info.
