Re-naming Groups

Are you trying to rename them directly from the top left views toolbar?

If so this will not work.

Hold down OPEN and press VIEW (last button on views toolbar). This will bring up your Views directory....put Guard on and select the View you want to rename and press Set. You can also put the directory into spreadsheet mode and rename there.

I am having no problem with this here on both H3 console and H3PC.

What console are you using? Do you have an external keyboard?

No, I wasn't trying to rename via the toolbar - I was attempting to rename via the Views directory in Pallette View. Which is something I've done several times, without this issue. As I explained, I was able to rename succesfully in the Spreadsheet view. Via the Touchscreens - no external keyboard. The issue was that the view had the wrong name. But when I hit set to 'open the box' as it were, the correct name was highlighted. Type in the correct name, and it wouldn't accept. I could only correct this via the spreadsheet view.

The console is a Hog 3, with 2 x DP (1 Active, 1 Spare) the software is v2.3.1 (1932).

I've had this exact same problem on the Road Hog running V2.3.1 just so you know it's not a one off!

We will look into this problem.

We have something very similar logged. Could this be what you are seeing? It deals with switching between spreadsheet and palette view:

1- start a new show
2- after the show launches, open the View Directory
3- select Palettes and press SET
4- you will see the word PALETTES on the button (this is correct)
5- Press Enter and close the View Directory
6- record a View, I used a simple CUELIST window
7- Open the View Directory
8- Select Palettes, press SET, you will see PALETTES (this is correct)
9- press enter, then switch to Spreadsheet view
10- now toggle back to the regular directory window view
11- Select Palettes and press SET
12- you will now see the word PROGRAMMER in the button, and if you try to rename it you can't - it will always go back to PALETTES

Steps 11 +12 are exactly what I've seen. Generally, creating views are one of the first things I do with a new show so I may be performing the same steps as you listed, reproducing the problem you have logged.

That's pretty much what I've seen too. When I press set with a view selected in the view directory it comes up highlighted with the correct name, but when I press enter it becomes the name of another view and the view it's taken the name from becomes the name I've just entered, if that makes sense. So ulitmatelty I end up with the 'output' view called 'colour' and vice versa. I'm not at the desk right now so I can't give you exact keystrokes but I can get more detail when I'm work tomorrow with the desk if this will help.

i ran into exactly the same problem you describe today on our iPC. i made a backup for testing it on my privat pc with hog3 pc. but everything works fine there.

lol that is pretty lame that you guys name your rackets -_-.

that would be like naming your soccerball if you play.
or your computer mouse if you play computer games.
