During a show I hade some trouble with conv. Lights and hade to re-patch some fictures. The re-patch during the show...no problem.... but closing the patchwindow the desk save this and the output of the deskchannels did't strange effects.
Is there a other option to re-patch without the desk save the show.
This was a very small setup, wat will be the effect with a big show!!!!

    Smeets,

Can you give a bit more detail as to exactly what you saw when you closed the patch window.

Often patch changes don't get relayed until the window is closed, so you just might have been seeing the DMX refresh, but hard to say.

I am confused by why you would want the desk to not keep patch changes once you make them?

first I changed the patch from the house lights
I split the houselights from 1 deskchannel to 2 deskchannels
After changing the patch I closed the patch window
During that time the dmx output changed for 2 seconds. The houselights went on and the stagelights went out. I had only deskchannels during that show.

Was there anything else in that system - DMX mergers, DALI converters, wall mount control panels, or anything like that? Or was everything running off the same dimming rack?

Notting else in the system, only deskchannels running from the same dmx line to the same dimmerrack. (1 dimmerrack 200 ch)

This is because when changes are made to the patch the internal OB process will load the new data to the super-widget and during that time there is a brief drop in dmx refresh. Most automated fixtures will close their shutters when this happens and the dimmer packs, depending on manufacturer will either stay on or drop out briefly. However, there is no reason for the house dimmers in this case to just come on. We will look at this closely with dmx workshop and see if we are sending out any funky dmx values during the OB reload.
