Studio Color 575 question

And is there anything else in your guys collective knowledge that might cause a color wheel to not home properly or fall into place ?

Would that be the 3771 chip? :dunno: Later models-575 series uses the 3773.
M & S series use the 3771. I might even have a few in stock.

Just a note puffy,
Perhaps you haven't run into these logic cards,
Some of the Studio Spot's came with 3775 Driver Chips,
and since these boards work just fine in studio color, sometimes they find their way there..
I have replaced a driver chip on more than one occaision to find that it was a 3775, and had to order one to replace it, now I stock both types..

As for the repair, I would just replace the motor,
99% of the time that is the problem (unless the belt looks like it is bad)

when in a pinch, martin uses the 3775 chips, so if you have a local martin guy i'm sure he has some.

I thought I have seen fixtures not home correctly, and/or loose home when the wrong stepper is installed, Perhaps my problem lay elsewhere?

I have seen the same thing. I have also seen the motor jump back and forth even when its supposed to be in a static position with the wrong chip installed.

i just replaced 4 magenta wheel motor belts. i have a good handful of these SCOLs and notice that in almost every one of them i ended up getting magenta wheel issues, all i ended up doing was replacing the belts, for some reason it seems those are the first ones to go..the belts and set screws usually go before the actual motor.

Probably because the Magenta is closest to the lamp (in memory serves...)....so it takes more abuse from heat and UV than the other ones.
