Editing Cue Fade Times

Since the Wholehog OS allows users to have multiple editors (programmer, cue, scene, etc) it is not necessary to copy the cue into the programmer to edit the cue's timing.

What I would recommend is Opening the Cue, Editing Times, then Updating. This can be accomplished by typing Cue # Open or if you'd like to edit the cue you're currently outputting you can simply double tap the Cue Key.

There are also other ways to update timing but this method is closest to what you are trying to do.

Follow all of your exact steps until you get to Merge.

You are missing 1 keystroke....Use T (use Timing). Once you do that, your timings will merge right in.

Timings are not merged unless specifically masked.

I tried the Use T, but it still didn't Merge.
I did MERGE CUE 1 Use T ENTER.
The test I'm doing is adjusting PAN TILT on a MAC 250 Entour.

Oh wait a minute... Yup, if I do Use T and Use P then it goes. :D

I did practice Zach's method too and that was fine.
Fewer steps too.

I only do a few large one-offs a year and so I don't get a lot of board time.
I practice on Hog 3PC.

Sorry...yes, I should have mentioned that you need to add in whatever parameter time you are adjusting....

If you change color time, it's USE C + USE T
If you change p/t, USE P + USE T.

You can also adjust cue timing directly from the command line - without have to 'Open' the cue, and update.

The syntax is Cue (n) Time x Enter

For example Cue 1 is set to 2 seconds. To change it to 10 seconds

Cue 1 Time 10 Enter

This can also be enhanced for Parameter Type and Fixture Selection.

So assuming that Cue 1 has a Global Time of 2 seconds and I want to change the 'Position' Time to 10 seconds

Cue 1 POSITION Time 10 Enter

For a specific selection (e.g. Fixtures 1-10)

Cue 1 Fixture 1-10 POSITION Time 10 Enter

Time x1 for Fade time, Time x2 for Delay Times, Time x3 for Path

e.g.

Cue 1 Fixture 1-10 POSITION Time Time 10 Enter

Will change the Delay on the Position for Cue 1 to 10 seconds

I see. I'm just not sure I trust myself to type it all in correctly. I'm afraid that in the rush to get the show programmed I'll type it wrong and then wonder later why the times are mixed up. I should practice it though, and then I might get more comfortable with it.

It kinda reminds me of the Lotus 123 days where computers were slow and people would type the shortcuts faster than it could keep up.
