hog3 and laptop for backup

hi,
i have wholehog 3 2.2.2
playback wing
switch
dp2000
laptop with hog 3pc 2.2.2
i try a laptop as backup for the show.
thr hogpc rescan the network an load the show.i can steer the show from wholehog 3 or pc.when i change what ,its change of pc and w3.its great.
my problem is when the w 3 closed or breaked,the pc locked of the show and is in the starter window.its not backup.who is my mistake?

Since the Hog3 console is acting as the show server Hog3PC will shutdown when the server is lost.

The Hog3PC is not truly a backup, it more of a remote control client desk to the main show server desk.

If you change Hog3PC for a Hog3 console, this would still only act as a "remote client desk". You can only have one show server on the network - this is the console or pc which runs and stores the show data. Any other console or pc on the network just issues commands to the show server in the server desk and does not record the show data to its own disk drive.Rob

If you want a backup system you must have a separate console and DP on a DMX A/B switch. If you want them to stay in sync, you will have to link the two consoles with MIDI.
