WAN stands for "Wide Area Network", which is another way of basically saying "the internet".
In the DL.2-GrandMA set-up, nothing is plugged into the WAN port on the router. The DL.2s and GrandMA should all be plugged into the normal network ports on the router (or, if there are not enough ports there, the router should be connected to a network switch through one of its normal ports, and then the DL.2s and GrandMA should be connected to the switch).
The router should then be configured to assign IP addresses in the 2.x.x.x range. The rest of the set-up is detailed in the PDF document you already have.
