I know many of us as programmers who use palettes on a regular basis generally rely on the ability to alter one item in a palette and it globally change all ques that reference that particular palette. However I was wondering if a SEARCH-FIND-MODIFY function can be created that "seeks out" parameters that aren't linked to palettes. For instance, say you use the encoders to create a color with HSI or gel picker for a couple of cues but didn't create a palette for it. Then later on you realize the color just isn't what you wanted which means you have to go back and change a few cues, perhaps more than you care to. Since you didn't use palettes it may take awhile to execute such a task. On the other hand, a lot of time could be saved if there was a function that allowed a programmer to look for any cues with certain values and change those values to something else with a few key presses. This functionality could be applied not only to color but position and beam as well.
One thing I alsways found really useful on the Compulite consoles was the delta function.
For those unfamiliar this worked in 2 stages. First you store information such as an intensity value into the delta (a clipboard if you like) then apply (or paste) this data to a cue range with 2 possible options. The first would block the intensity value hard into every cue, the 2nd would only adjust the intensity where a value already existed, leaving cues without this fixture untouched.
Simularly you could drop a level by say 10% relitively in both of the above conditions.
I would like to see such functionality added to the search find replace idea.
