X-Spot Restart after Shutdown

Hi! I am not experienced with the Xspot specifically, but I have used a lot of High End fixtures. Have you tried doing a lamp off instead of the shutdown? I believe this will keep all the fixture motors and functions enabled, it just shuts off the lamp. Then when you are ready, you can send a lamp on command and when the lamp comes up to tempature, you're set to go. I've done this with Studio Spots a lot and should work. The Hog3 software has these functions in the same menu but also check the Xspot manual in section 4-10 for the specific sequence to do the control commands as I think is says you have to send the shutter channel to 0. Hope this helps.

Anyone who has worked with Xspots want to chime in?

also dont forget if you are just breaking for lunch it is better to leave the lights running b/c restriking is extra wear on the ignitor and lamp power supply along with it takes about 2 hours off the lamp every time you restrike it. Also i leave the shutters open when i go to lunch to keep the fixture cooler.

Well, we are in a church, so it is just used for a couple of hours on a Sunday morning. The biggest issue is we get started, turning on the Hog PC about 15 mins before the service, and the lights are a bit loud when we they start homing and grinding the belts....
We don't want to leave them running for a week, thus the Full Shutdown, although we have noticed the power supply continues to run on them, unlike the Studio Colors that we rented, the completly shutdown and start back up when they get DMX, the X-Spots don't.
Strange, someone will figure it out.

Another Question, MSpeed, right now it takes forever for the light to move, 2 seconds there about, I know you can make it go faster, and have done it on a Hog 1000 in years past. But I cannot find that commend on the Hog 3 PC, I have looked at every possible setting, am I missing the obvious or what?

Actually on studio spots the power supplies stay on even when the light is shut down. The unit has to keep the Power supply powered on in order to keep the logic board powered up so it knows what to do when it recieves DMX.

I'd wire them into 2 circuts on a breaker and call it a day...

I would too. Or just find the breaker that powers them.
