how to create MIDI files for MSC

How would you want to trigger the program sending the MIDI strings? That's going to play a big part in which programs might work for you.

I'm not aware of any applications that are designed to trigger the sending of MIDI strings, but we may be able to find a way to make something like MIDI-OX or SAMSC work, or we can try to find a different application.

With Media Complete's Media Shout, the program can play MIDI files as part of a cue. I would set Windows to output MIDI on the soundcard's MIDI out port.

I need a way to create the MIDI containing MSC messages so Media Shout can play them. I'd like to save a SysEX command as a Midi File.

Midi-Ox www.midiox.com can make a sysex file that can be sent via command line through midiox.

I'm honestly not sure how to create a .mid file with embedded sysex commands. I'll do some looking into this, but you may have just as much luck with Google as I do.

i had the same problem some days ago and here is what i did:

i took a programm called e:cue (www.ecue.tv) what is able to output midi strings on incoming midi notes. this means that a certain midi note triggers a certain midi string (MSC Command) inside e:cue. all you have to do now ist write a midi file with the fitting midi notes.
