Hog III Touch Screen Issue

It's almost certainly a problem with the touchscreen, but it could also be an issue with the video chip on the motherboard.

Getting at and replacing the touchscreens isn't too difficult.
Remove the metal face plate (6 hex screws).
Remove the touch plates (4 thumb screws each).
Remove the LCD screens.

If you swap the 2 screens, you can verify that this is a screen prooblem and not a video card problem.

So the "lines through the screens" seems to get even more complicated. I'm sitting here with the console and I'm even more confused. The "missing pixel" lines ONLY appear in the "COLORED" portions of the windows. Everything is fine in the grey portions. No matter how I size or move the windows, the lines always appear in the same place on the screen, but, again, only in the "COLORED" sections. Also, this is only on the right hand touchscreen.

In my opinion (which is the humblest of the humble) it might as well be just a bad connection. My console gets these from time to time, especially after a bumpy truck ride or exposure to extreme temperatures. Normally it goes away itself after a while.

This console is in a permanent installation and has only been moved once in 2 years. I have checked all the connections inside, but alas it's still there.

I'm still thinking that this is probably a hardware problem.
Have you tried swapping the screens or the connections to the screens so we can see if the problem follows the LCD or the video card output?

I haven't physically swapped the screens. I will do that when I get back there next Friday and see if it follows. As there are lines on both screens (one is much worse than the other), I'll know if it follows or stays.

My experience with LCDs in any scenario is that when you get lines like that, the screen is rapidly on its' way out. Usually breakdown like that is vibration related, so if it has been handled roughly repeatedly or in an environment with a lot of physical vibration it may have caused this.

If you're lucky it will only be a bad cable to the screen.

I fully agree. It's something that can and does happen on all LCD screens from time to time. It doesnt always go away (unless it does turn out to be a bad connection, which shouldnt cause that issue in a specific place -- it would create it over the entire screen).
