I believe this is on it's way. Not sure when, but it is on the list.

    Lee,

Scott is correct. This is a convenience that we are all looking forward to. It's actually a rather large project, because properly handling USB mass storage devices will require an upgrade to the linux kernel that we run on the console. We've begun the development that will be required to do this upgrade, but we are still working on it. We have a few big things that we need to finish up first (like console to PC connectivity), but this is high on the list of needed features and visible on the horizon. Thanks for your patience.

I've tried backing up my show from my iPC to a thumb drive, but i usually give up about 20 minutes later, and it's still nowhere near complete. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I've just been dragging the file from the Hog3 folder to my F: drive (USB Key).

    Thanks,
    Daniel

With version 2.0 running on my pc and hog3 I was able to make a backup directly to a thumbdrive. But the pc had to be running as the server. When it is running as a client there are NO options to backup only create a CD.:( I would like to see the client able to backup to a local drive. Maybe i'm paranoid but I dont like to keep my backups all in one place.

    Lee,

Currently, when running multiple consoles there is only one show server that runs on one of the consoles in the network. This prevents us from having to worry about data consistency problems that could be caused by maintaining multiple copies of show data on each of the consoles. Because of this, show management functions can only be performed on the server console. This may change in the future. We already have a feature request opened for backup functionality from client consoles, so it's certainly something that we're looking into.

    Thanks.
