What I did to get this was...
launch a new show on a WholeHog 2
save it to a floppy disc
plug the floppy disc into my computer
drag the effect.dat file from the floppy to my desktop

to put it into your show I assume you would plug in your floppy and drag the file over or if you're on WholeHog 2 PC you don't need the floppy

Thanks, but I want to insert this file into the Hog 1000 show, because this console has a weak base of effects. In your file, the effects are the same as in Hog 1000.

That is correct, the Wholehog 2 and the Hog 1000 have the same base effects. In would recommend using the effects engine and recording effect palettes.

    Okay, how to do it?

How to make a new effect? Not from existing ones. For example, the library does not have pan sine or pan saw . How to make it?

To make a new effect select your fixtures, open the effects engine, and choose the table, rate, size etc... and then record that to an effect palette.
Here is a link to the WholeHog 2 handbook that talks about making custom effects:

    It starts at page 81

Hello, I come to you for information about the JANDS HOG 1000 lighting console that I saw on your website. You are great professionals and you will certainly be able to inform me. I just inherited this console in perfect condition but don't know how to make it work because I'm a sound technician and not a lighting designer. It is an old light console but according to the information I could find on the web, it was a reference, and I also saw that it is still used and rented by many service providers for theaters and concerts despite his great age! It's incredible ! Could you tell me under which windows version it works? I saw that there is a floppy disk drive but did not find in my uncle's estate the floppy disk which should allow it to be initialized... tell me more! Thanks a lot for your help! Best regards Eric MORATA Music Partners Organization France.

WholeHog 2 was released in 1995, I would not use anything newer than Windows 7 for Wholehog 2 PC.
You do not need a floppy to get the console to work you just need to turn it on and you'll be good to go, you just will not be able to save the show unless you have a floppy.
The operations manual is mentioned above.
