V3.12 Can't Release Virtual List

Hello everyone,
We recently updated our consoles to V3.12, and now I noticed an issue that I think hasn't been there before.

I'm not working on the consoles very often, but I'm fairly sure that you could once release virtual lists that are not assigned to a fader by pressing and holding them on the screen, and then pressing release. This is also mentioned in the quickstart guides one finds online, so I think I'm not imagining it.

Now if you are working with virtual lists that are not assigned to real faders, there doesn't seem to be a way to release them at all, except for the hog release that releases everything. Is anybody else experiencing this problem?

At the moment we can only release lists that are assigned to faders by choosing them with the button and then releasing, but not by pressing the list item in the cuelist directory, and then pressing release. It neither works with or without guard, holding release and then pressing the list, or holding the list and then pressing release, it just doesn't do anything.

Thanks in advance for any input on this issue,

Yours,

Nishigo

    Hello Nishigo,
I tested it on my Road Hog and here it works well.
hold the list and press release

You have to press and hold on the list and then tap release. Just pressing the list and then pressing release will not work.

    Thanks for your replies.
I know that it SHOULD work, but it doesn't... any ideas why that could be?
Is this now a bug report? :D

Feel free to send me your showfile, and I can take a look at it. noah.allen@highend.com
I can verify this behavior is working as expected in 3.12.0
additionally, you can hold [LIST][Release] which will release all lists in your list directory, not assigned to a master.

Thank you, I will do that (possibly not until monday, we won't be around the office much this weekend) :)

    Hello again,

I just wanted to let you all know that we resolved the problem (and it was a bit silly actually) so if anyone else has the same issue, here's the story:

We updated our consoles and bought a brand new Hoglet with the Arcus docking station, so we thought the problem was with the new software. But it turns out, that the "bug" only happened on our "old" Nano Hog and the new Hoglet, not on the Hedgehog or the Full Boar, so we checked if the problem lies with Windows.

Aaaand well... the Windows standard setting for touch is, that if you touch and hold, it activates right click, and we simply had to disable that option. To accomplish that, do as follows:

    - Search the Windows Start Menu for "Pen and Touch"
    - If it doesn't show up, open the Control Panel, select "Tablet PC Settings", choose "other", and there will be the option for "Pen and Touch"
    - Under "Pen and Touch" choose "Touch", and you will find the behaviour for "Double Tap" and "Press and Hold". Choose "Press and Hold" and then "Settings", and you can either disable "press and hold for right-click", or you can move the speed bar way up so the right-click only happens if you press and hold the screen very long.
    - Close the Windows with "OK" and you're good to go

The only slightly annoying thing is now, that the Hog on PC Software apparently only recognises a "hold" instead of just a "press", if you move your finger ever so slightly, so if you want to press and hold you basically have to swipe the button just a little bit. But, if you know that, it's nothing that hinders you.

Thanks for the help, but in the end it was of course just another user failure ;)
