I've the Cuelist directory windows maximized, open a Master cuelist so it is on top and the press view cue, when I then close the view Cue the Master Cuelist then hides behind the Cuelist directory.
I've also managed record on antother Cue in the directory by have the Cuelist directory and a master Cue open pick a some fixtures and press some palettes, press record, click on one of the Cues in the list to insert, then the master Cuelist hides behind the Cuelist directory and records on another Cue in the directory window.
I will try to replicate the record issue more carefully.
