Default positions

Hello all,

I went to a show the other night and noticed that they were running Hog 4. I noticed their movers 'homing' to a position when not in use. For example, when not used on a cue they would revert to a dead hang with a 45* tilt. I guess it was the LD's intention to not have the mover be 'in the way' if its not being used. I thought it was pretty nifty and a nice trick to add to the repertoire. If anyone can direct me in the right direction it would be most appreciated.

It is located in the Patch window.

Press SETUP / PATCH and then at the top of the window, press EDIT FIXTURES. This allows you to setup default values for ANY parameter…press "SORT BY FUNCTION" and then you can grab a range of fixtures and set the default tilt to 45d (or -45d depending on how they are hung).

What was the show? This is a great trick that I do as well, and I got the idea from a buddy of mine.

If I have a stick of movers that are going to tilt forward to the stage in a majority of the cues, then I'm typically selecting the fixtures and then tilting them up to the stage, and then creating presets.
If I set the default so that they are already tilted towards the stage, than that means one less step for me.

It was a metal show for a band called Erra. Everything was time coded to their songs. During a double bass blast for example the movers would pan/tilt into the stage and go nuts. Or a quick pass over the audience. Once the band moved on to another phrase the movers would move back to their..wait for it..default positions.
