Select a fixture then Touching a wheel, or touch button takes fixture to default values

Hi,

So, I'm extremely comfortable on a Hog3 with Version 3.2.6 software....about 60 shows per year for the last 10 years.

Just got a Hog 4, been using it for a month. Nice, just new stuff I don't know, haven't been here for so long my ID was deleted...guess I should check in more often. So if you look me up and see I've been registered for 10 minutes thats why....enough rambling.

To the point.

I can't figure out what I did on the Hog 4 this week:
When I have any fixture active,
When I select the fixture, as soon as I move any wheel, that parameter goes to the default. Its never done this on the Hog3 to me.

The bad thing is this: If I move the pan wheel, pan and tilt go to 0 degrees pan 0 degrees tilt. Same for Intensity, if the light is full, and I just touch the intensity wheel, it goes to 0 intensity.

I want it so that If I've got a fixture at 45/45 when I select and touch the pan/tilt it stays at 45/45 instead of flying to 0/0.
Also, If I have a light on, and I touch it, Intensity goes to 0

It means I can't edit anything on the fly in my shows.

So, reading the manual, seems I could hold a key down to take me to defaults, but, I'm not holding down a key, and I can't figure out if I've got a stuck key. I've removed the external keyboard. No better.

I've also gone back in time to first day's backup, loaded that, no avail.
I've also built a new show and imported palettes from an early show that worked fine...

Is this a preferences setting ?
Do preferences "persist" in the desk when I load different shows ?

Any insight is appreciated. Sorry for the long dissertation.

Thanks,
Mike

Can you send me the "bad" show file to look at?
You are correct this behavior is the same as the H3.
We did add a new feature in the H4 that will send the parameter to the default value quickly but you must hold a combination of buttons to do this.

    hello ,
    software 3.1
    Hog PC server
    Road hog client
    senerio
I adjust a level on a light with the intensity wheel
    456 wheel down from 95% to 40%
    then gaffer asks
take 10 points out of 622
I key in 622 and touch the intensity wheel
622 was at 100% and it jumps down to the previous lamps level of 40%
Gaffer screams WHATS GOING ON!! THAT WAS A LOT MORE THAN 10 PERCENT!!

    is this a bug??
In all other versions back to hog 2 I don't recall EVER this happening

Are you holding down any another key when touching the intensity encoder?
We do have a key combination that would equalize all fixtures in your selection to the first fixture but again you must be holding a combination of keys to do this.

A buddy of mine had the same thing going on....
It ended up that he had some stuff on his keyboard that pressed the . key....

Because what you saying is the exact behaviour what should happen when turning an encoder hand have the . key pressed.

No not holding down any keys when adjusting levels.I do not- and did not have a keyboard attached. Sorry for the delay in coming back to post. I upgraded to 3.2 and had new silly things to chase, like my road hog not turning off while I run as a client. :/
even though I upgraded to new software, it happened again yesterday. Lamp was at 50%, recorded at 50%
gaffer asked to take 10 points out of lamp.
I key in number and touch intensity wheel to go DOWN and it jumped to full.
the last adjustment I had just made prior to that was a group of lights to full slow on the intensity wheel.
Thank you for your patience .

Can you make a video of what you are seeing and how you are doing it?
I have not seen the intensity jump to full when selecting it.

Clients not logging off is a defect in 3.2.0 that will be fixed in 3.2.1.

    Hello,

    Are you still seeing this?
I have not been able to recreate this in the lab.
