Software does not start

Hi,
the software does not start on my desktop machine running Windows 8.1 64bit. Also not in compatibility mode setting Win7.
It does work normal on my laptop running Windows7, although.
Suggestions?

    What happens when you try to start the appication? Any error messages? Also, do you have the UAC settings turned all the way to the lowest settings and are you logged on using an account with administrator priveledges?

    Actually nothing happens. Also the install went on with no errors. The account has administrator rights, but I will try different UAC settings.

    I tried it with the UAC set to the lowest setting, still nothing.

    Weird. Sounds like the launcher app just won't start. Perhaps try right clicking on the desktop icon and selecting run as administrator?

    Already tried. Also tried to start the launcher directly in the folder, in case there is a problem with the link on the desktop. Same result, no errors, no startup screen, nothing.

    I don't know. The application simply not starting and without error is kind of starting to get into the realm of a deeper issue going on with Windows on that machine. I am not sure what else to try at this point.

    Do you know what Windows resources, ports, etc, the Hog software needs or is checking when starting? I suppose something like a blocked port, maybe by a different software...

    OK, progress. After re-installing several times with no changes, I searches for Hog4 folders still left over from the Windows Install cleanup tool and deleted them manually.
    So, now, the software starts, lets me choose a show, and no matter if I choose a new one or a old one, the start-up process stops at the "Adding DP8K process 1" line
    So what?

    Updated today to 3.0.1 and, not that it makes me wonder, the software is still not working. Start screen, selecting the show to start (no matter which one), loading server... waiting... server is not starting, responding, what ever...
    ridiculous crap.

    Try turning the Windows firewall off. The software communicates with itself using TCP and UDP.

    OK, you do not have to turn the Windows Firewall off completely, but you have to change the settings, especially the ones handling public traffic by hand. Still not sure why this is no issue on my other 2 machines, but who knows?

    I have had the same issue. I'm wondering what are the differences between Win7 and 8.1 firewall.
