WYSIWYG Not Connecting

stagelitesstagelites Registered User, Hog Beta
After installing the PC Version of 3.0, I no longer can connect to the visualizer. Status says: Connecting, Session:No Server. This does not change whether I am connected with an actual console or HogPC on the same PC as WYG. I also do not see the visualizer in the network pane. Port numbers are all the same and HogPC and My FUllboar see each other.

Did you by any chance run beta 1 of 3.0.0 on the computer running WYG?
  • stagelitesstagelites Registered User, Hog Beta
No, I did not. Kept the PC on 2.7. Desk ran the beta but not the computer.

Is a version number or build number being reported at the top of the connectivity window?
  • stagelitesstagelites Registered User, Hog Beta
    V 1.08
  • cmuenchowcmuenchow Registered User, Administrator, HES Staff
That's at the bottom though, right? I am saying where it shows Hog DP at the top of the window.
  • stagelitesstagelites Registered User, Hog Beta
It just says Hog DP nothing else up top
  • stagelitesstagelites Registered User, Hog Beta
Am I missing something? Is it in the title bar? If so there is nothing but "Hog DP"
  • cmuenchowcmuenchow Registered User, Administrator, HES Staff
Okay, then that means the connectivity driver has not downloaded a copy of the DP from the console which tells us a little about the problem. Do you have multiple network adapters enabled on the PC? Bluetooth, etc?
  • stagelitesstagelites Registered User, Hog Beta
The only enabled adapter is the wired ethernet. All others are disabled.

I am not sure what is causing it but I can tell you that the connectivity application simply isn't pulling down its copy of the DP from the console in this case. I am still investigating. Perhaps it is something with the connectivity as installed by Hog 4PC. Its really strange though. You might want to try the procedure I outlined in the beta forum just in case.

I completely cleared out the temp folder. Still no luck
  • cmuenchowcmuenchow Registered User, Administrator, HES Staff
Yeah, it didn't sound like you were suffering from that particular problem either. Just wanted to give it a shot. Okay, so back to the basics, it doesn't sound like the connectivity application is able to find the console in order to download a copy of the DP to the visualizer machine. So, please go and triple check IP address, switches, routers, port numbers, FIREWALL turn OFF, UAC turned to lowest setting. Also please report back the version of Windows you are running.

Or actually, you can also try just re-installing the v2.7.0 connectivity driver and see if that works. That will tell us a lot too :)
  • stagelitesstagelites Registered User, Hog Beta
Running windows 8.1. Firewall is off, UAC is at the lowest. IP's are good, Ports routers and switches are working. The only change was installing 3.0 on the PC. Prior to that we had no problem. HogPC sees the other desks and syncs. It is just connectivity that is not working. Just tried it on my laptop and I am getting the same not able to connect.
I don't know what is up, but not getting it on both PC's.

Yeah, we might have identified the problem now. Strangely though that deleting of old files should have worked. In any case let me know what re-installing v2.7.0 connectivity does for ya. Sorry for the trouble. These things are sometimes a bit tricky for us to troubleshoot. Thanks for your patience.

will 2.70 connectivity work with 3.0 Software (Desks and PC's)
  • stagelitesstagelites Registered User, Hog Beta
I also noticed a weird glitch using the setup key in hog PC. It does not always go to control panel, network and patch but will give another toolbar related to recording cues. Sometimes happens and sometimes does not.
  • stagelitesstagelites Registered User, Hog Beta
    2.70 Connectivity works.
  • cmuenchowcmuenchow Registered User, Administrator, HES Staff
Awesome. I think we discovered the problem and will patch it in v3.0.1 coming really really soon. In the meantime v2.7.0 should do all you need for connectivity. Thanks for your responses and sticking with us as we figured this one out.

Resolved with today's v3.0.1 software release. Be sure to upgrade the connectivity driver using the Hog Connect MSI installer and WYG should be back up and running for you.

i have v3.0.1 on a HH4X, and also 3.0.1/(1056) connectivity driver, the virtual DP can not find the server still....

    console at 172.31.0.1
    windows 7 computer at 172.31.0.2

im getting pings and packets from the console and vice vera...

all was working with 2.7 on console and the connectivity driver for 2.7 also (972 i believe ??)

Has the console downloaded a copy of the DP yet? To find out look at the top of the connectivity box that shows up at the bottom right of the screen. Does the toolbar handle (top of the window) show a build number (972 or 1056)?
  • JontrincasJontrincas Registered User
Yes, DP is showing build 1056.

I have same problem here ... HogConnect 3.0.0 not stable always disconnects and 3.0.1 doesn't connect at all.
Also Hog4 v3.0.1 software has a bug I think in which Hognet Port and FixtureNet port seem to be flipped ... I usually connect to Arkaos Media Server thru fixture net in versions 3.0.0 and earlier but in 3.0.1 artnet is transmitting on hognet port.
