Edit Fixtures Gobo Slots

If I edit the default gobo slots of a fixture is it possible to use any of the available alternatives or can I only use some of the certain options?
I was trying to edit some gobo slots today and after editing several gobos on both the static and fixed wheel several of the auto-pallets were greyed out and became unresponsive?
So basically editing the gobo name made the pallet un-useable?
Mac 700 Spot fixtures in basic mode.

When hitting the 'Change' button on a selected image you should be able to navigate to a USB drive on your desktop and import your own custom image.

I have patched 10 Mac 700's and changed every color and gobo name (on both wheels) and the auto generated auto palettes are still working. Can you please send me a before and after copy of the show file?

Hi Michael,
Perhaps I am not being clear or the process has changed.
If I press
>setup
>patch
>edit fixtures
and then try to edit the gobos of a Mac 700 is where my problems or issues are..

Sorry, I misunderstood.
I was thinking you were changing the name and image in the Media Picker.

In Edit Fixtures you can only select from the list of names provided.
This is nothing new to H4 as the same thing will occur on H3OS.

Ok,
Then I was/am having issues.
I didn't have a backup at that point as I was just patching fixtures.
Editing gobos made the default auto generated gobo slots un-useable/greyed out.

Cormac,

Did you do "auto palettes' first and then start changing the names? Auto-palettes references the names (because of the replicate/clone features to keep things together)…so if you change the name, it breaks the connection to the palette. At least that's how I always remembered it.

Jon is correct, we references the names that is why your auto palettes are graying out after you change them in edit fixtures.
If you just want the name changed then I would do this in the Media Picker.
