Hog 4PC with DP2000?

Hello, I was doing one looking around online yesterday, and discovered that "the DP2000 will no longer be functional within Wholehog software versions 3.2.0 and greater." (According to the Trade in and End of Service information for the DP2000). My question is if this is referring to the firmware running on the DP, or if I can only use the DP with the HOG 3.2.0 PC software. Can I use the DP2000 with HOG 4PC, or only up to Hog3 PC v 3.2.0?
Comments
Starting with Hog 3 version 3.2.0 the Hog OS no longer supports DMX output from the DP2K.
You can load Hog 3 3.2.0 software on the unit and turn it into an ArtNet Node.
The Hog 4 NEVER supported DMX output from the DP2K.
Hope this helps.
Thanks
You can use it to convert artnet to DMX, but to enable Artnet you need DMX-Widgets.
During HOG4PC V3.6.0 is connected to a Super Widget and Art-Net mode, a DP-2000th Can you not go in parallel with the two devices?
Specifically, it is a question that at present, the DP-2000 outputs parallel outputs of the Super Widget, and I want you to be line. 1-4 Super Widget and 5-8 Dp-2000, or vice versa.
Is there a solution?
HogPC can output max. 8 universes via widgets, (2 x super widget, 1 x super douper widget, or single widgets or any combination), all theses widget-outs will then be mirrored to artnet. You can then use any artnet-dmx converter to convert them back to DMX. And in this case you can use the DP2000.
Which makes not much sense, because you already have the output on DMX from the widget.
Only if you dont want to run a lot of 5-pin lines, you could just run 1 network cable and then convert it back
I want to use the dp 2000 just for that: as a artnet-dmx converter in my hoglet, just to avoid 4 long 5pins dmx cables
The question is: do I need to give different ip to hognet and fixturenet?
If yes, how can I do that on my laptop?
Thank you in advance
If you have to you have to set the IP to the matching IP range of your fixture net port.
Dont forget to switch the DP2000 to the Artnet mode
