Hog-Net / Fixture-Net

Hi Everyone,
I'll preface this by saying that I know just enough about networking to consistently screw it up.
I have a show coming up with multiple programmers, and I have a question about setting up my networks. Unfortunately, I am stuck with Pathport Octo's instead of DP8000's so my lighting system has to be controlled via art-net. I want to network the consoles so that both programmers have complete control of the rig. Do I have to use Hog-Net to combine the consoles and also use Fixture-Net to spit out Art-net to the Pathports? How would I setup the network so that there is redundancy in terms of art-net backup from the consoles if one of them crashes? Any advice would be appreciated.

Connect the consoles via Hog-Net. So you have the backup for the console-side.
For the artnet-side you can use a managable switch that can do tha a/b switching, or maybe the pathport nodes also have 2 inputs that you can switch as a/b
When setting up like that you only have to clone the internal DPs of the two consoles.
