effect curve between 2 pallets

Should if be possible to put an effect curve between 2 pallets, and using same options than effect engine?

I suppose this would be similar to telling the FX engine where to start and where to stop and running the effect inbetween these two points. This is very powerful and would be great to have in the FX engine. I have logged this a #9028

it's exactly that, and could be on intensity, position, color or beam palette.
