Road Hog4 Programmer Lockup

So, I'm programming a gobo look with rotating gobos. Road Hog4 and Martin MacIIIs. I want the two fixtures to rotate their gobos at the same speed in opposite directions.

I run the "Gobo <>" wheel to the desired speed, then select one unit, hold down the "-" key and touch the wheel. Yesterday when I did this, I got the desired result. Today when I do this, the Programmer freezes. I still have faders and playback, but no wheels or keys in the Programmer area. Can't even clear the programmer. Touch screen cursor follows the touches, but no buttons respond.

Everything comes back after a console re-set (which has to be hard-switched, because the "Setup" key doesn't respond), but I've been able to re-create this three times in a row.

Hi, Ben, what version software is installed in the console?
Was the show originally created in Hog 3 software or Hog 4?
As a test if you start a new show and patch the same fixtures, do you get the same results?
I am not seeing it here but there may be more contributing than what I have tried.

Do you still have windows viewable or is it just the "4"
If so try this: pig+open+backspace, right click on the crashed desktop process and restart
    Right-click is pig+set

Sorry to take so long getting back. Thanks for your responses, I just couldn't get back on-line consistently to get back to you.

    Mitch--
Console is running the build just before this latest update (build 633). The show was written from scratch in the Road Hog4.

I'll try the test you describe when the console makes it back to our shop on Monday. Of course, we'll plan on a software update then as well.

Thanks again for your responses, folks. I'll update you when I can.

    Cheers!

When you can please open the logs folder and delete any dump files that are present and if you run into this again please check to see if the system produced a dump file and send it to me.

Sorry for the break in my communications. I will look for dump files next time I see that console.

When it got back to my shop, our tech loaded my show, and tried for a good hour to make it fail.

He then updated the software, and tested it extensively before sending it out the door.

    Thanks for responding!

This sounds similar to an issue im having with my nano and hog4pc! Im having a choose button stick in the software somewhere making it very difficult to programme a show. I can run the playbacks as you described, but pretty useless with everything else as a load of buttons wont work once the choose button is held! Very frustrating

    Ben

I was able to find the desktop crash you reported.
    I select 10 units
    Apply a gobo
Put the gobo into rotation mode
    Dial the rot to 50%
5 thru (DO NOT hit enter ) touch the '-' to put the encoder into reverse rot (desktop crash)

If you hit enter after your selection the desktop will not crash.
I have logged a defect for this, thanks for the information.
